There’s potential for higher earnings with experience or specialization, making the construction field a promising career option.
Residential construction alone accounts for 18.3% of local jobs, while specialty trade contractors and foundation, structure, and building exterior contractors contribute 16.9% and 11%, respectively. Job postings from July 2024 to June 2025 reveal a monthly average of 16 postings for construction managers and 21 hires, alongside 9 job postings and 148 hires for construction laborers.
Those seeking employment in the construction sector are encouraged to apply in person, as many companies appreciate direct applications even if they do not have advertised positions online. Comfort Systems USA is one such organization that actively engages with potential employees. The company has been involved in significant local projects and plans to build a fabrication shop and office in Pace, Florida.
