Collin College has announced that it will begin accepting applications for its new Bachelor of Applied Technology (BAT) in Software Development, set to commence in the fall of 2025. This program will be housed at the college’s Frisco Campus and aims to strengthen the existing offerings in software education.
The BAT in Software Development expands upon the college’s Associate of Applied Science degree in Software Development. Designed for those who seek a deeper understanding of software design and development, the new program emphasizes hands-on experience and incorporates real-world practices essential for today’s tech industry. Students will engage in Agile teamwork and utilize collaborative tools, all critical components of successful software development methodologies.
Students enrolled in this program will have the opportunity to learn about modern programming frameworks, enhancing their technical skills, while also developing important project management and team collaboration capabilities. This multifaceted approach not only prepares students for technical challenges but also equips them with the soft skills necessary to thrive in the workplace.
On April 4, 2025, the program received final approval from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), solidifying its place within the college’s academic offerings.
